Safety, quality, performance, and sustainability are deeply embedded in the way Boskalis operates worldwide. The Branding Boutique has been closely involved in the development and ongoing roll-out of several key programmes, supporting both their strategic foundations and their practical application across the organisation. Through initiatives such as NINA, Way of Working, NFL, and the Emission Reduction Workbox, we help translate ambition and policy into clear, tangible tools that work in daily practice. By combining content development, visual consistency, and practical formats, we support Boskalis in embedding these programmes across offices, projects, and fleet.

NINA - No Injuries, No Accidents

Safety is deeply embedded in the way Boskalis operates worldwide. The Branding Boutique has been closely involved in the development and ongoing roll-out of the Boskalis safety programme NINA, No Injuries, No Accidents, supporting both its strategic foundations and its practical application across the organisation.

From the outset, we helped shape the communication framework around NINA. This included management statements, on-site posters, and the development of tools such as the YES-scan, all designed to translate safety ambitions into clear, actionable messages for daily operations. A key element of the programme is the series of Workboxes, each focusing on specific safety themes. We continue to contribute to content development, sharpen messaging to keep it practical and relevant, and are responsible for the ongoing design and production. The Workboxes are distributed globally via the Boskalis Warehouse, ensuring consistency and accessibility across locations.

Beyond individual tools, we advise on the overall communications approach, including the development of the right mix of communication channels and formats. By applying creativity and interactive game elements, we help make safety a recurring and approachable topic in daily work, across offices, projects, and fleet. In addition, we help keep the safety story alive by conducting interviews about daily safety practices and translating these into accessible stories for the NINA at Work publication. Our collaboration continues to this day, supporting Boskalis in keeping safety communication clear, practical, and embedded in everyday work practices.

Way of Working

To make quality more tangible in daily operations, Boskalis developed the Way of Working quality programme. The Branding Boutique played a key role in translating this programme into practical and engaging toolkits, developed under the name Talks & Tools, a concept created to bring the quality system to life across the organisation.

We were responsible for the concept development and design of the Way of Working toolkits, focusing on turning abstract quality principles into practical guidance. The toolkits were designed to encourage dialogue, support day-to-day application, and create a shared and consistent way of working.

Talks & Tools help teams open the conversation around quality, apply topics directly in practice, and structurally embed quality into daily work processes. By sharing knowledge, learning experiences, tips, and clear do’s and don’ts, the toolkits provide practical instruments that support operational excellence.

By combining clear content, thoughtful design, and a practical format, we support Boskalis in creating awareness and anchoring quality within its culture. The programme also helps Boskalis communicate its Way of Working consistently, both internally and externally.

Boskalis NFL

To support continuous improvement across the organisation, the Boskalis Finance Leadership Team initiated the NFL programme, Next Financial Level, in 2019 as a permanent platform to strengthen performance and align daily operations with long-term strategic goals.

At the request of the Finance Leadership Team, The Branding Boutique translated the NFL vision into a clear and recognisable visual identity. We developed the overall look and feel of the programme and produced a comprehensive set of communication tools, ensuring consistency and clarity across all applications.

From core visual assets to practical materials used throughout the organisation, our work helps make NFL tangible and accessible.

Boskalis Sustainability

Building on earlier safety and quality programmes such as NINA and Way of Working, The Branding Boutique supported the Sustainability Team of Boskalis with the development of the Emission Reduction Workbox. The aim was to make sustainability and emission reduction tangible, practical, and discussable for crews onboard vessels.

We were responsible for the concept development, visual identity, and supporting tools of the Workbox. Designed as a practical facilitation tool, it helps prepare and guide conversations about sustainability and emission reduction with the entire crew, translating strategy and ambition into clear, actionable insights. The Workbox provides concrete examples of what individuals can do in their daily work to contribute to reducing emissions. By combining clear content, a recognisable visual approach, and an accessible format, the Workbox supports awareness, motivation, and engagement across the fleet.
